| Connie is married to Wayne Black, ( class of 1956
Modesto High ) they |
| have been
married for 46 years. |
| Connie graduated in 1962 from Modesto High School
and MJC in 1965. |
| They have 5 children and they have 10 grandchildren. She
says the children and |
| grandchildren are ours. Our retirement money is
invested in weddings! There |
| is a contract with each investment. It states, if
marriage doesn't last five |
| years a full refund of wedding money will be returned to your
parents. |
| Connie worked for Campbell Soup Company as a quality
control inspector for |
| 5 years. She then worked for the Department of
Agriculture in the fruit and |
| Vegetable Division as a Grading Inspector
for 5 years. She was offered |
| employment with Tillie Lewis Foods as Quality Control
Inspector and she |
| worked there for 4 years. After the plant closure
Connie was employed by |
| Tri Valley Growers Plant 7, the largest cannery in the
world. She worked as a |
| Quality Control Supervisor with employee supervision
responsibilities as well |
| as technical inspection decision making. She
worked there 21 years. |
| Connie also worked for S. & W.
Fine Foods for 9 years with her work |
| season overlapping with her Food Inspector
Career. She retired in 2001. |
